There’s ‘No Safe Amount’ of Hot Dogs to Eat, New Study Finds

“Habitual consumption of even small amounts of processed meat, sugary drinks and trans fatty acids is linked to increased risk of developing type 2 diabetes, ischemic heart disease and colorectal cancer,” the study’s lead author, Dr. Demewoz Haile, told CNN.

Dr. Nita Forouhi, a nutrition expert at the University of Cambridge, was not involved in this particular study, but told CNN that the findings point to no safe amount of regular processed meat consumption and suggested it’s healthiest not to eat it all the time.
