The legend Jimmy Carter šŸ˜šŸ’” Itā€™s breaking our hearts, but the update is hereā€¦

Jimmy CarterĀ hit a major milestone October 1 when he turnedĀ 100, becoming the first AmericanĀ presidentĀ to live a full century.

Amid the celebrations, his grandson reveals the centenarian is ā€œvery limited in what he can do,ā€ and that this ā€œjourneyā€ is ā€œoneā€ he can only experience at ā€œthe very end.ā€

On October 1,Ā familyĀ and friends of Jimmy Carter gathered in his hometown of Plains, Georgia, to celebrate his 100thĀ birthday, the first without his wife of 77 years.

ā€œWe know this is the first birthday without Rosalynn. Itā€™s bittersweet, but we also know sheā€™s always with you,ā€ PresidentĀ Joe BidenĀ says in a birthday message to his longtime friend. ā€œSheā€™s in your heart; sheā€™ll never go away. She may be gone, but sheā€™s always going to be with you. Sheā€™s always there, and I know you know that.ā€

The former first lady, also from Plains, died November 19 at age 96. Carter ā€“ who uses a wheelchair for mobility ā€“ is rarely seen but did appear at his late wifeā€™sĀ memorialĀ service.

Biden, one of the first sitting senators to endorse Carterā€™s 1976 campaign, continues of the former Commander-in-Chief, ā€œEven after you left office, the moral clarity you showed throughout your career showed through again in your commitment through the Carter Center and Habitat for Humanityā€¦Put simply, Mr. President, I admire you so darn much.ā€

The milestone birthday bash was held at the Plains home where the Nobel Peace Prize laureate lives in hospice, the same one he built with Rosalynn in the 1960s.
