Taylor Swift Didn’t Sign The Smashed Guitar
Videos go viral for many different reasons but anytime a video involves Taylor Swift, it seems to take on a life of its own. That was seen recently when a man smashed a guitar that was supposedly signed by Taylor Swift.
On September 28, an auction event was held for charity and one of the items auctioned off was a guitar. The guitar was advertised on the Facebook page of the organization, saying it was a ‘guitar autographed by country music star Taylor Swift.’
As you can imagine, there were many people who would’ve been interested in buying the guitar but one man decided to put up the money, $4000, and he purchased the guitar for himself.
Rather than hanging the guitar on the wall or sitting it in a corner, he took a hammer immediately after winning it and smashed the guitar to pieces. People were taking videos at the time and they went viral, including one that had over 22 million views.

Things have changed recently, however, especially after the video went viral. The merchandise company associated with Taylor Swift has confirmed that the guitar was not signed by the singer and that it was not an official guitar that was certified to have been used by her.
On top of that, they said that there would’ve been a certificate of authenticity if it had actually been signed by Taylor Swift. They don’t feel that the auctioned guitar has one.
