Some Are Calling This 16-Yr-Old Boy’s Prom Gown ‘Vile’

When he stepped out of the car at the prom, people were waiting for him to cheer him on. He received a round of applause from both students and staff at the school where he goes in Norfolk.

His mother said: “As soon as he got out of the car, everyone just cheered and I was crying, some of the teachers were crying, because he was being who he wanted to be. Everyone has been very supportive, and his year group has been incredible. If you let your child be who they are then you’ll get nothing but the best out of them.”

His mother continues to champion her son and to be supportive. She did so by sending out a message on Twitter along with a few photos of his outfit.

She wrote: “At age 12 my son announced he wanted to go to his school prom in a gown. Four years later we made it happen. I’m so incredibly proud of him for being true to himself & the reception he got from his whole school was incredible.”

Millions of people were supportive of mother and son and complimented her on having such a handsome son.

Others, however, did not have quite the same view. Some were happy for her son but were worried about their own children who have similar viewpoints. They know that bullying is a serious problem.

Others were dismissive of the whole thing and called it vile. They went on to say that she was a failure as a parent for letting him do it. They said: “A 12 year old boy should be playing football and learning to be a man. But, sadly people now a days virtue signal, like what you’re doing with this tweet, and ruin their kids for life. Shame.”
