Mother, 3-year-old daughter from Jackson reported missing

The Jackson Police Department (JPD) is urgently asking for the public’s assistance in locating 3-year-old Janae McGill, who has been reported missing and is believed to be in danger.

Janae was last seen in the early morning hours of Monday, around 3 a.m., near the 300 block of Northtown Drive in Hinds County, Mississippi. Police believe she is with her mother, 32-year-old Shardee McGill.

According to investigators, Shardee was last known to be driving a 2017 Chevrolet Equinox, but the vehicle was later found abandoned in Alabama, raising serious concern for Janae’s safety and well-being. Authorities say the circumstances of the case suggest that the child could be in danger.

The police are now working with multiple agencies across state lines to track down leads, but they are also asking for the community’s help. Anyone who may have seen Janae, her mother, or who has information about their whereabouts is urged to contact the Jackson Police Department immediately at 601-960-1234.

Officials stress that time is critical in missing child cases, and even small details from the public could play a vital role in safely bringing Janae home.
