Megachurch founder Robert Morris charged on five criminal counts involving a child

Authorities have said they want to cooperate with Morris’ attorneys in order to get him in police custody. (Fox 4 Dallas)

Oklahoma Attorney General Gentner Drummond also commented about the incident.

He said: “There can be no tolerance for those who sexually prey on children.

“This case is all the more despicable because the alleged perpetrator was a pastor who exploited his position. The victim in this case has waited far too many years for justice to be done.”

Following the news of the charges against Morris, Clemishire issued a statement as well.

She said: ”After almost 43 years, the law has finally caught up with Robert Morris for the horrific crimes he committed against me as a child. Now, it is time for the legal system to hold him accountable.”

A spokesperson for the attorney general’s office said that Morris was not in custody on Wednesday but they would be working with his attorneys for him to surrender himself to authorities.
