John Ashton From ‘Beverly Hills Cop’ Has Died
Hollywood has lost quite a few notable actors this year, and now we have another to report. His death is impacting many, especially those who fondly remember his most popular movies from the 80s.
John Ashton, who is best known as Detective John Taggart in the Beverly Hills Cop movies has died. He was 76 years old at the time of his death and he passed away peacefully after battling cancer.
The family of the actor is grieving and they have appreciated the outpouring of support that his fans have provided. Undoubtedly, the memory of his acting will continue to be celebrated by his fans and family or anyone who was fortunate enough to have known him.
To honor his life and what he has offered, the family is asking that donations be made to Pathways Hospice Care in his memory.
Ashton has been active in Hollywood for about five decades and during that time, he appeared in more than 200 different films, stage performances, and television shows. You may have seen him in a number of different performances but he was best known for playing along with Eddie Murphy in Beverly Hills Cop.
John Ashton, Eddie Murphy, and Judge Reinhold made the trio in those movies that worked very well. It was the perfect mix of action and comedy that audiences appreciated.
The fourth installment of the Beverly Hills Cop series, ‘Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F’ recently premiered. Ashton spoke about the sequel, saying that it had been in development for more than two decades before it debuted.
The discussions about the sequel were not very certain so he was working on another project when he received a call about the film. He then flew to Los Angeles to meet with the director and joined the project.
