Dolly Parton breaks silence on health rumors — “I AIN’T D**D YET!”

Dolly Parton Addresses Health Rumors After Sister’s Emotional Plea: “I’m Okay!”

Fans of Dolly Parton have been expressing concern for the country legend’s health after a series of canceled appearances and an emotional message from her sister, Freida Parton, asking for prayers. Now, Dolly herself is setting the record straight.

Canceled Appearances Spark Concern

Worries first began when Dolly was forced to miss a September 17 event at Dollywood, where she was expected to help announce the park’s new attraction, Night Flight Expedition. The country icon later revealed that she was suffering from kidney stones that caused an infection, forcing her to stay home under doctor’s orders.

Just a few weeks later, she announced that she would postpone her sold-out Las Vegas residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace. The six-night run, originally scheduled for December, was put on hold so she could undergo “a few procedures.”

Adding to fans’ worries, reports also surfaced that she would not attend the Governors Awards in November, despite being set to receive the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award for her lifelong charitable work.

Freida Parton’s Late-Night Prayer Request

Concern for Dolly’s health intensified when her sister Freida shared a heartfelt Facebook post on October 7, writing:

“Last night, I was up all night praying for my sister, Dolly. Many of you know she hasn’t been feeling her best lately. I truly believe in the power of prayer, and I have been led to ask all of the world that loves her to be prayer warriors and pray with me.”

Her words quickly spread online, leading many to speculate that Dolly’s condition might be serious.

Dolly’s Team Responds: “It Got Blown Out of Proportion”

To calm growing concern, Dolly’s longtime manager Olly Rowland clarified to the Las Vegas Review-Journal that the situation was being exaggerated:

“It’s just the kidney stones, and the procedure she needs to resolve those. It looks like her sister posted, and it got quite a bit blown out of proportion, weirdly.”

Dolly Parton Speaks Out: “Do I Look Sick to You?”

Never one to leave her fans hanging, Dolly posted a video message on October 8 to personally clear up the rumors — in true Dolly fashion, with humor and grace.

“Well, today’s October the 8th, and obviously I’m here. Do I look sick to you?” she joked, revealing she was filming a commercial for the Grand Ole Opry.

She went on to thank fans for their prayers but assured everyone she’s doing just fine:

“I wanted to put everybody’s mind at ease. I appreciate your prayers — I can always use them — but I want you to know that I’m okay!”

Dolly shared that after the passing of her husband, Carl Dean, in March, she hadn’t been caring for herself as diligently, leading to some minor health challenges.

“It’s nothing major,” she explained. “I just needed to be close to home and near my doctors for a few treatments here and there.”

And in classic Dolly style, she ended with a smile and a bit of sass:

“I’m not dying! There’s just a lot of rumors flying around. But if you heard it from me, you’d know I’m okay. I ain’t done yet — I don’t think God is through with me.”

A Reminder of Strength and Faith

While Dolly didn’t share specific details about her treatments, her video was enough to reassure millions of fans that the 79-year-old legend remains as strong and spirited as ever.

She may be taking a short break from the stage, but as she put it herself — “I ain’t done yet.”
