Freddie Mercury’s ex and ‘love of his life’ breaks silence on his alleged ‘secret child’

The ex of former frontman for British rock band Queen, Freddie Mercury, speaks out against an alleged secret child by the late star.

Mary Austin, 74, who Mercury described as ‘the love of his life’, says Freddie Mercury having a secret child is ‘implausible’.

She has spoken out following the release of a forthcoming book titled: Love, Freddie. The book, which seems to rely on diary entries from Freddie and his alleged secret child, claims that Freddie fathered a girl as the result of a fling with a close friend’s wife. Responding to the book’s claims, Mary said she was in ‘total disbelief’.

The book also says that this was a ‘close-guarded secret’ that only Mercury’s inner circle knew of and his confidants, including Mary.

However, Mary, who is Freddie’s former girlfriend and companion from when they met in 1969 until his 1991 death, said: “I was named as a party to a story that spread across the world. And so, as I thought about it more, my disbelief turned into bewilderment as to how this story, referencing me, had hatched without a single person making contact with me first.”

She continued: “Despite it being claimed that I knew about the existence of a secret child and kept it secret, not one person has attempted to contact me for a right of reply.”

Mercury, unfortunately, died of bronchial pneumonia, which was caused by Aids. The book claims that Mercury had an affair with a friend’s wife, which led to the birth of a child, which the book refers to as ‘B’. The book appears to host 17 volumes of diaries, which it claims Freddie wrote when he found out he was going to be a father, and he later handed over to B. The book also allegedly includes entries from ‘B’ herself, alleged to be 48 and a medical professional residing in Europe who said she ‘had a very close relationship’ with Freddie ‘from the moment I was born and throughout the final 15 years of his life’.
