18-year-old cuts off adoptive parents after they missed graduation to buy ‘rare’ labubu for sister

The teenager has been left ‘hurt’ by the whole situation

A teenager has remarkably cut off her adoptive parents after they turned up late to her graduation because they bought a ‘rare’ Labubu doll for her sister.

The fluffy and slightly ugly-looking Labubu is absolutely everywhere right now, as both children and adults clammer to get their hands on one.

Over 48 million Labubu searches were made on Google in the past month, while ‘Labubu fake’ searches reached almost 500,000.

The toy has come a long way since it was launched in collaboration with Chinese toy company Pop Mart six years ago, to the point where it is now breaking up families.

An 18-year-old woman explained on Reddit that she’s cut off her adoptive parents after they missed the majority of her graduation to buy their biological daughter a Labubu.

The anonymous teenager explained how her adoptive parents had fertility struggles when they adopted her as a baby, but welcomed a ‘miracle’ newborn eight years later in the form of Princess, who is now 10.

“Princess was spoiled and clearly the favorite. She never got in trouble, was always right, got WHATEVER she wanted and acted HOWEVER she wanted,” the 18-year-old explained on Reddit.

“Now I have a car and a boyfriend (since sophomore year). I stay with him a lot and his family loves me so I’m barely home, maybe 24 hours at most weekly. My parents didn’t care and this was my normal so I stopped caring too.”

Her parents’ love for Princess was certainly evident on the teen’s graduation day as they prioritised the young daughter’s obsession with Labubu over the big day itself.

She continued: “See her current obsession are these doll plush keychains called Labubus, she collects them and that specific day, she found this super rare one for sale in our city.
