Everyone’s saying the same thing after Trump announces UFC fight on White House lawn next year

Trump made a surprising announcement while speaking to crowds in Iowa

President Donald Trump has announced he’s holding a UFC fight on the grounds of the White House next year.

Speaking to crowds in Iowa on Thursday (July 3), Trump said next year’s 250th anniversary of American independence would see a range of exciting events held across the country, including a ‘championship fight’ in front of 25,000 people within the grounds of the White House.

Speaking about the organisation of the event, Trump explained that UFC president Dana White would be leading the plans.

“We are going to have some incredible events, some professional events, some amateur events,” he said.

“Does anybody watch UFC? The great Dana White? We’re going to have a UFC fight. We’re going to have a UFC fight – think of this – on the grounds of the White House. We have a lot of land there.

Speaking of other events, he added: “Every one of our national parks, battlefields and historic sites are going to have special events in honour of America250.”

Following Trump’s announcement, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said: “It’s going to be EPIC!”

While some people seemed ecstatic over the prospect of a UFC fight at the president’s home, others struggled to believe the plans at all.

One wrote: “Trump just announced a UFC fight on the White House lawn with 25,000 people attending.
