Military Flyover Honors Jimmy Carter On His 100th Birthday
Turning 100 is quite a milestone but it is especially a milestone for former Pres. Jimmy Carter. That is why he was able to spend it doing something that very few people are able to do.
When former President Jimmy Carter turned 100 recently, he did something that no other former president was able to do. He turned 100 years old and he is the oldest former president in history.
They wanted to honor him so they did so in a number of ways. One was with the concert held at the Fox Theater in Atlanta. This didn’t take place on his birthday but rather, took place on October 1, 10 days before his official birthday.
He wasn’t able to attend the event in person because he has been in hospice care for the past 19 months. Many friends and family were able to celebrate the milestone with him in their own way.
This included being wheeled out of hospice care for a little while with his loved ones around him. A military flyover took place in his honor and you can see a glimpse of it in the video below.
Carter’s grandson wrote: “Not everybody gets 100 years on this earth and when somebody does, and when they use that time to do so much good for so many people, it’s worth celebrating.”
He was able to have a special day with his family and friends by his side. He also had the Secret Service there to care for him and some of them have been protecting the president for almost 50 years.
Many people also came to the comment section to leave kudos for the president and to wish him a happy birthday.
