College Girls Make History With Epic ‘Smooth Criminal’ Routine
There are certain songs that always seem to make us want to get up and dance. For some, it’s a beat and for others, it’s the fact that we’ve seen some people dancing to them.
One of the songs that has this ability is Smooth Criminal. As a Michael Jackson song that certainly has an epic history of dancing, it is one to be considered any time you want to do something extraordinary.
That is where the LSU Tiger Girls come in. They were competing at the 2024 UDA College Nationals in Orlando, Florida and they chose that song for a hip-hop dance. In fact, they were able to win the hip-hop championship title as a result.
Even before the music started, the crowd was absolutely thrilled about the possibility of what the performance held for them. It was clear that they were in for quite a treat as the group stood before them dressed in white suits and fedoras.
It didn’t take long after the song started that you could tell it was a definite shout-out to Michael Jackson himself. It set the tone for the rest of the entertainment that evening, but when the music started, the energy was absolutely off the charts.
Smooth Criminal was on the Bad album and was part of that Michael Jackson’s release in 1988. It was famous because of the beat but when the dance video was released, it showed his ability to do something extraordinary.
Fortunately, this group was able to pull that off, and in the end, they walked away with more than an award, they walked away with a memory they could share with millions.
