82-Yr-Old Juliet Mills Opens Up About Her Long Marriage To Younger Man
Time marches on and it takes all of us with it. Sometimes, it can pull people apart but at other times, it pulls them together.
Juliet Mills, who is a former child actor is now 82 years old and she is living a good life. She has been married for 40 years to a husband that is almost 20 years younger than she is.
At one point, people doubted that the relationship would work but it has stood the test of time.
Mills was the one who made the path to stardom first when she got a contract with Warner Bros. Some of her early roles included Carry on Jack and Nurse on Wheels. When she starred in The Rare Breed in 1966 with James Stewart and Maureen O’Hara, however, her career began to really take off.
She looks back on her youth with a lot of happiness and pride. She says: “I’m very proud of it and have very, very happy memories of it. I’m still recognized all over the place for that as much as anything I’ve ever done, which is extraordinary.”
Mills was only 18 when she won her first Tony Award. She has certainly made her way in the industry.
Max Caulfield, her husband, also was well-known as an actor. He played in Greece 2, making his debut, and eventually would be cast in The Elephant Man play and go on a US tour. The two of them were friends on stage and it was love at first sight.
Caulfield said that their romance was ‘full-blown’ and that they had a very strong connection. They went to see Betrayal on Broadway as their first date after being invited by Natalie Wood.
Caulfield was 21 years old when he married Mills in 1980. Many people had their doubts that they would last because of the age gap but they side-stepped any controversy and continued to stay together.
